What are programmable & CNC sewing machines?

Specials are the automated and programmable machines: CNC template sewing that follows a stored stitch path, programmable pattern tackers, automatic pocket-welt and placket setters, and feed-of-the-arm flatseamers. They remove operator-to-operator variation by sewing the same shape every time, which is what high-volume and precision work depends on.

How to choose a programmable machine

Start from the operation you want to automate. For repeated shapes and templates, a CNC pattern machine like the JACK M7 or M5 follows a digital path within its sewing field — choose the field size for your largest pattern. For pockets and plackets, dedicated setters like the J6 welt machine or the T5878 placket machine automate that single operation at volume. For programmed reinforcement, pattern tackers like the T3020 store multiple shapes. These are throughput tools: they earn their place when the same operation repeats enough that consistency and speed outweigh flexibility.
